When the children arrive, we offer them plenty of time to undress in the cloakroom (there is always a teacher present) and to change into their uniform (tshirt and tracksuit trousers/shorts).
The children then have time to work with all materials – including many Practical Life activities (such as preparing snack, washing tables, watering plants etc.), eye-hand coordination materials as well as language materials until around 9:30am
We then share the snack that the children helped prepare before going into the garden for a good hour of playtime (we go outside every day, no matter the weather!).
At 11:15am we have story- and music time with the whole group before having lunch together.
Naptime is between 12:15pm-14:15pm and pick-up time is between 14:45pm-15:00pm
One of the key elements in our Nut Tree Seedlings group (1 to ~2.5 year olds) is to support the children on their road to independence. We provide the time and environment for them to try things for themselves and to simply learn by doing. Specifically this means, for example, giving them ample time and opportunity as well as appropriate support to care for themselves (e.g. to undress and dress themselves in the cloakroom and when changing into the uniform, eating on their own with a spoon/fork etc.), letting them choose materials freely from the shelves that have been chosen carefully by the teachers in advance, getting them to help with preparing snack (peeling and cutting fruit and vegetables with real peelers and knives), caring for the environment (watering plants, scrubbing tables, washing cloths etc.) and many other such activities.
The prepared environment has been carefully designed by our experienced team and includes not only the physical aspects (child-sized furniture and furnishings, age-appropriate materials etc.), but also puts great emphasis on the respectful and loving attitude the teachers show towards the children, modelling behavior we want the children to absorb naturally.
We are here to work for the children, to help them grow and develop within a Montessori prepared environment, which allows the children to reach their full potential and by working together with the parents, we aim to provide the children with the best start to life possible.

Healthy snack prepared by children – fresh bread and butter or porridge, fresh fruit and vegetables
Lunch is provided by an external caterer – the food is wholesome and organic/local whenever possible, no additives are used. Our support staff prepare fresh garden vegetables daily for the children to eat with lunch. We eat fresh fruit as a snack after nap-time and we drink only water and unsweetened fruit tea at our kindergarten.
We also use our own home-grown fruit and vegetables whenever available to cook and bake.
We provide food for children with food allergies – such as gluten, lactose and egg allergies. No nuts are contained in any of our food.
We eat vegetarian meals at least three times per week, on days when meat or fish are on the menu, a vegetarian alternative is available.
